Dean, famous for his large number of small contributers, has faded. Kerry, whose supporters include a "Who's Who" List of Boston big law and D.C. lobbyists, is taking off. Guess the big boys got nervous.

Unless of course the Democrat voters out there realized that there was very little chance of Dean beating Bush in November...

Yep, campaigns are for winning and Dean peaked too soon and undid himself.

Actually, you can pretty much blame Gephardt and Dean's lack of oiliness for his downfall; in Iowa, Gephardt kept up a constant stream of attack against Dean in every matter imaginable, and Dean got prickly over it. That, and the constant overplay of the "Dean Scream", which *was* disturbing, but only mildly, undid the man.

Kerry got picked as the default candidate. And he's not bad; not spectacular, not impressive, but not W. And for most Democrats at the moment, that's the most important thing.

I really don't think it had much to do with the Beacon Hill trust-fund babies at all.

Actually I think you can blame Dean's ineptness at rational thought as undoing him....
